I Love You, Grammie

I Love You, Grammie, Division IV Novice
I Love You, Grammie Div. IV, Honorable Mention, Watercolor/Acrylic
I was having a wonderful time outdoors with my granddaughter and snapped a photo with my camera. Outdoor sunlight, lots of fringe bush foliage, gentle breeze, metal patio chair. She had braces at the time, but I painted her without them, as they will be removed soon, when her upper jaw has been expanded enough. She was still 8 years old at that time, soon to be 9.
I was afraid to start, because I had never done a watercolor portrait before and I didn’t want to ruin it and be disappointed. I finally decided it was time to be brave and try… It took about 4 months to finish it, adding different layers, each time thinking I might ruin it!
