Wading in Ideas
I began with a palette left from painting another acrylic painting. My intent was to experiment with Posca Acrylic markers, which I had never used before, to extract images by negative painting to create a scene that matched a concept of showing how creative ideas form in my head. The scene reminded me of a time my family searched for oysters with my mother's uncle. This scene connected me to the idea that when we search for oysters, it takes many oysters before we can find a pearl. The same is true with ideas that inspire "winning" artworks.
