Falling Leaves
Div. II, Second place, Studio Fine Craft
This piece was made from a repurposed table runner with beautiful Fall leaves. I love the colors of Fall and I selected the fabric to be a natural background for the leaves to "fall" or "float" on. The burlap trim is another natural fiber that helps depict the warmth of the Fall season and it's colors.
This piece used paper on top and fabric for the skirt. It is wrapped more than draped and has burlap ribbon around the skirt bottom. The paper is rich and more intense because I use Gloss Medium to attach the pieces and thus the medium makes the color stronger. The paper work is tedious and time consuming but does make the piece interesting.
