Australian Sunset
There’s something sacred about a sunset—especially one over the ocean. This piece was painted from a reference photo of a beach in Australia, a place I’ve never been, but hope to visit someday. As I worked, I felt like I was there—standing barefoot in the sand, watching the warm sky stretch across the water, violet shadows mingling with golden light.
Painting from places I’ve never seen in person feels like a quiet adventure. It’s a way of reaching across borders and time zones to connect with the wonder that lives in every corner of the world. Through watercolor, I get to travel, to see, to imagine—and to invite others into that beauty too.
This painting carries the warmth and longing of a distant place that somehow still feels close. I hope it brings the same sense of peace and light to you that it brought to me.
