Alaskan Seaplane

Alaskan Seaplane, Division II Established
Alaskan Seaplane
This painting was inspired by a reference photo taken by a friend I met on a watercolor retreat—someone who calls the wild beauty of Alaska home. What I love most about watercolor, and about the creative community I’ve found through it, is that it knows no borders. It’s not limited to Texas or the U.S., but extends across oceans and continents—connecting me with artists and adventurers all over the world.

Painting this Alaskan seaplane felt like a journey in itself. I may never step foot on that exact dock or hear the rumble of its engine in person—but through my brush and paint, I was able to experience its quiet strength and the vast, rugged wonder of the landscape it represents.

To me, watercolor is a way of traveling—of honoring beauty that might otherwise go unseen. It’s a celebration of friendship, exploration, and the gift of bringing distant places to life on paper.
