My intention was to build a vertical surface reminiscent of a Japanese approach. The colors I selected were inspired by Japanese woodblock prints. They remind me of a sunny spring day.

Materials
I made this collagraph print by building the surface of the plate with modeling paste, crackle paste, heavy tar gel, and other various gels and pastes. I next printed it in Paynes gray. When dry, I loaded it with color using acrylics.
