Birds of a feather

I was inspired to create this piece, by the connection between nature and human invention. I have grown up by a bayou and have always taken inspiration from the unique animals that live there, so I decided to illustrate some ducks I've seen at the bayou. Also, growing up near this ecosystem, I have seen man-made trash and waste hanging in trees and flowing with the water. After hurricane Harvey, I remembered seeing a drastic increase in litter in the bayou, from tires to bags and bottles, trash was infecting the bayou. This piece shows the beauty of the creatures that live in the bayou, while showing the looming presence of humans in their lives.
