Living on the upper end of Galveston Bay offers a daily opportunity to observe the variety of wildlife native to the area. Pelicans are abundant and I often see them in various stages of activity, including when they want to catch some Z's. I've photographed them many times and managed to get a shot of one with eyelids closed. They do doze.
